CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE PRESENTS “FUNDERSTRUCK”, A NEW MARKETING CAMPAIGN DESIGNED TO ENHANCE THE HIGH JOY AND PLEASURE TOGETHER ON A CARNIVAL CRUISE

Building on Carnival’s branded platform, Choose Fun, the company is introducing a whole new word – Funderstruck – to describe the unique feeling felt when choosing entertainment on Carnival. Funderstruck will celebrate what travelers want right now and something Carnival is precisely engineered to deliver – unabashed fun with those you love to spend the most time with.

Carnival will feature Funderstruck first via CRM and owned social media, followed by a series of back-to-back campaign activations during two pivotal holiday cultural moments. The first Funderstruck spots will air on ESPN and ABC during NBA games on Christmas Day, in addition to match and pre-game sponsorships. Funderstruck will next be in the spotlight, with Carnival sponsoring the iconic New Years Eve celebration in Times Square, thanks to a strong collaboration with ABC and the New York Times Square Alliance.

Carnival ends the year with a very successful restart of its guest operations, following a 16-month industry-wide hiatus in the United States. Carnival has returned 19 of its 22 US-based ships – including its most recent ship, Mardi Gras, as it consolidates its position as the American cruise line that receives the most customers of all cruise lines. By 2022, its entire US fleet and ten year-round home ports will return to full customer operations in March, in time for the cruise line’s 50th anniversary.e birthday. Carnival will also take delivery of two more ships in 2022 as it increases its carrying capacity beyond pre-pandemic levels.

The integrated campaign coincides with the cruise industry’s 2022 wave season, which marks the annual kickoff of cruise planning for millions of Americans and travel counselors. In addition to Christmas and NYE integrations, the Funderstruck message will be used on all channels owned by Carnival, OOH placements in major port and food markets, national TV commercials at 3pm and 30pm, and digitally directed efforts. showcased through video streaming, audio streaming, podcasts, unique high-impact display and video efforts, and a social presence on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook.
