Chevrolet to Launch EV Marketing Campaign via NFL Football
As more automotive brands move toward an EV-centric future, advertising could become essential. General Motors has never been shy about launching big advertising campaigns, and it is likely to do everything for electric vehicles. Chevrolet will kick things off with a new assortment of EV commercials that will air during NFL football games on Sundays.
We can only imagine that Chevrolet, along with most of its rivals, is already making notable plans for the Super Bowl. While Tesla and other startup automakers don’t really focus on traditional advertising, legacy brands have been doing it for years. Even if automakers, such as the Big Three, wanted to soften the ads, they might not have much of a choice if their competitors continued to tout their future lineups.
According to a recent article published by Automotive News, Chevrolet’s upcoming ad campaign is expected to feature the Blazer EV, Equinox EV and Silverado EV, all fully electric vehicles that are expected to hit the market next year. This week, to North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Chevrolet Marketing Director Steve Majoros shared that the ads will emphasize that Chevy’s electric vehicles are “built for everyone, everywhere.”
GM CEO Mary Barra has spoken many times about beating Tesla in the EV game as early as 2025. She suggests that Chevrolet will bring affordable EVs to market to the masses, which Tesla still hasn’t been able to do. able to do. The Equinox EV will cost around $30,000, and GM also plans to launch cheaper options.
The Chevy ad campaign is a big project that will provide material for about three months. Majoro added:
“We’re going to be telling America about these great new products, so look for us during the day and Sunday Night Football, where America comes together. The theme is very simple. It’s electric vehicles for everyone, everywhere. It’s very bright, upbeat, and it lets everyone know that this story is coming together.”
Do you think traditional automakers will have to keep spending money on huge ad campaigns as they bring electric vehicles to market? What will be the impact of such advertisements? It seems that in the past they have not only drawn attention to the brand running the ad, but also to the entire EV segment. Leave us your thoughts in the comments section below.
