Leitrim Tourism has launched a family marketing campaign for Spring/Summer 2022.

A statement announcing the news said: “Family holidays are about making memories and spending time together, and for 2022 County Leitrim is renewing its focus on the domestic market for 2022, looking to attract even more families. to explore, experience and enjoy the ‘hidden gem of the heart.
“The county has benefited from the recent demand for holidays in Ireland, as Irish visitors seek less crowded destinations that offer more space, comfort and outdoor opportunities to enjoy time together again.
“Leitrim Tourism, which is responsible for promoting County Leitrim, is today launching a new online video as part of a twelve-month marketing campaign to capitalize on the domestic market aimed at attracting more Irish visitors to the north west this year.The video campaign will run on social media along with a bespoke advertising campaign in cinemas across the east of the country.
“The new family-themed 30-second video features spectacular drone footage and some of Leitrim’s most iconic sights, showcasing the best of activities and inspiration for a family holiday in Leitrim.
Commenting on the video campaign launch, Leitrim Tourism Officer Sinead McDermott said: ‘From tranquil landscapes to bustling villages with great restaurants, County Leitrim offers the best in holiday inspiration. as a family in 2022; water adventures like stand-up paddling and canoeing are always popular, along with blue lane cycling and boating holidays on the Shannon. Walking trails through North Leitrim to Glencar Waterfall, Fowley Falls and, there are inspiring landscapes and picnic spots dotted throughout the county.
“The campaign coincides with the launch of a new Leitrim Walks brochure showcasing routes through the majesty of Arroo Mountain and the wild highlands of Sliabh an Iarainn.
“The Hidden County of the Heart offers much of what the Irish visitor is looking for this year; uncrowded open spaces, bustling towns and villages and great hospitality.
“It’s not just water adventures; Co. Leitrim also boasts a range of historic and heritage sites from Parkes Castle to Costello Chapel, Glenview Museum to Creevelea Abbey, Sean MacDiarmada Farm to Fenagh Abbey; explore monastic ruins and stories from another era.
“From time spent with friends to vacations with family, the county offers the most ideal setting to reconnect and spend time together this year.

“Leitrim Tourism’s campaign will also build on Failte Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands Irish destination brand campaign.
