VisitBritain is set to launch a £10million international marketing campaign in February targeting European and US markets.
The campaign will go live in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands the week of February 14 and will launch in the United States on February 10.
The program will feature UK cities such as London, Edinburgh and Cardiff and ‘encourage visitors to see a different side of Britain’, promoting new experiences such as kayaking on the Thames, Festival Edinburgh Fringe and Gin Tasting at Cardiff Distillery.
It will build on the government’s tourism recovery plan released in June 2021, which aims to bring domestic and international tourism back to pre-pandemic levels.
VisitBritain chief executive Sally Balcombe said the organization’s priority was to “rebuild demand for Britain and visitor spending as quickly as possible”.
“In addition to messages of welcome and reassurance, we are shining a spotlight on our vibrant and diverse cities,” she added.
“Telling the stories of our renowned heritage with a modern twist, our buzzing contemporary culture and innovative food scene, we show that Britain is full of fresh and exciting experiences to come and see today.”
