VisitAberdeenshire wants to inspire locals to ‘have a day out’ in Aberdeenshire this spring and, in doing so, give the area’s hospitality and tourism businesses a much-needed boost as Easter approaches.

Chris Foy, CEO of VisitAberdeenshire, said: “This multi-media campaign, supported by VisitScotland’s Destination and Area Marketing Fund, highlights the wonderful variety the region has to offer and illustrates how locals can enjoy a great day out here wherever they turn, with great attractions and world-class experiences just a short drive away.

“Visitors can enjoy new experiences nearby that they may not have been aware of and help support the tourism sector at the same time.

“While encouraging them to ‘make a day out of it’, of course they may also want to take advantage of the wide variety of food, drink and accommodation in the North East and make it a night out as well.”

Cllr Andy Kille, Leader of Aberdeenshire Council, said: “Our area is full of beautiful towns and villages which continue to offer a wide range of retail, hospitality and leisure businesses, not to mention any a series of activities available for both residents. and visitors can enjoy it all year round.

“After such a difficult time for all of these businesses over the past two years as various restrictions have been imposed on all of us by the Covid-19 pandemic, campaigns like ‘Make a Day of It’ this spring will give us all a opportunity to clearly demonstrate our support for the hospitality and tourism sectors while enjoying great days and exploring new parts of Aberdeenshire.
